This announcement will be published on MyHT later in the week. We have informed the volunteers just today and wanted to give LAs a few days to translate. But since the news is out, let's discuss here and now :)

After close to 15 years of going at it alone, Hattrick today joins forces with three other game studios headed by Zattikka, a games publisher focused on social and mobile gaming. Within this group, we will continue to be an independent studio focused on the two games we run today, Hattrick and Popmundo. We will also help Zattikka and the other companies in the group to do what we are best at; building big browser-based simulation games with strong communities.
For those of us that have been along for the whole ride, this is of course a big day. We think this a good strategic move that will help develop Hattrick as well as our capabilities as a team. For the last couple of years, we have been quite conservative in terms of how we develop and market the game. Rather than continuing on this path, joining Zattikka will help us broaden the audience for Hattrick through investment in the core game, through better marketing and analysis. You may already have noticed more people playing Hattrick this last season, in part this has been due to early cooperation and marketing advice from Zattikka.
It has also been important to us that Zattikka recognises the great potential in Hattrick, and that we are equally eager to keep building on Hattrick strengths in order to realize this potential in the coming years.
Our immediate roadmap for developing the core game stays the same, as you can read in our recent editorial on the subject. We are inspired and encouraged by the positive feedback we have had from Tournaments, and we will continue working on them, as well as on the new Ratings. We will also continue to improve the appeal of Hattrick to new users.
We expect this change of ownership to make little difference to you in the short term, and in the longer term mainly from seeing Hattrick regain stronger growth and a better game experience for all users.
The team will be the same as today, and the original Hattrick founders will also be owners in Zattikka going forward.
If you have any questions about this, please join us in the Global forum where we will answer questions.
To the next 15 years!
